Attention, Amazon sellers! American station requires that all commodities involving energy efficiency standards must pass DOE energy efficiency certification

Author:中认联科 time:2025-03-11 Ctr:12

Recently, Amazon USA released a heavy policy update: from February 18, 2025, all products on sale must pass DOE (U.S. Department of Energy) energy efficiency certification, non-compliant products will be forcibly removed from the shelves, and products with a valid model missing in the product model field will also be discontinued. Thereafter, only products that meet the DOE standards are allowed to be sold.

This new regulation is directly related to the seller's product survival and account security, and violation may lead to high fines or even the risk of title. Please attach great importance to it!

Mandatory scope and time node

◆ Effective date: After February 18th, 2025, all the goods on sale will not be sold without DOE certification.

◆ Model requirements: the product must be filled with a valid model, otherwise it will be discontinued directly.

◆ Annual report: Certified products need to submit an annual report through DOE CCMS system. Failure to submit it on time will result in the model being removed.

Scope of certification

Categories involving energy efficiency standards, including but not limited to:

◆ Household appliances: refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines and other household appliances;

◆ Power supply category: external power supply and power adapter;

◆ Lighting category: LED light source, fluorescent lamp, fluorescent lamp rectifier and other products;

◆ TV set;

◆ Information products: set-top boxes, monitors, etc.

◆ Audio and video products: DVD player;

◆ Transformer products;

◆ Motor products;

◆ Small battery charging system: Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth speaker, sports bracelet, driving recorder, mobile phone, tablet, notebook computer and other products with rechargeable batteries;

◆ Large-scale battery charging system: battery charging system products other than small-scale charging system;

◆ Bathroom products: shower, faucet, toilet, etc.).

Consequences of violation

1. Product removal: Amazon will force the removal of products that have not passed the certification, which will affect the sales stability and brand image of the company.

2. Huge fine: Once the product fails to pass the certification after verification by the US Energy Administration, the seller will face a huge fine calculated according to the products sold and the number of days on the shelves. The fine will be accumulated every year, and the amount is often amazing. This is undoubtedly a heavy burden for most sellers.

3. Title risk: If the circumstances are serious, you may also face the punishment of Amazon title, which will cause you to lose your sales qualification on the platform.
