Pretreatment

The samples should be transported and stored in aluminum coated polyethylene bags; sampling should be carried out directly after the samples are received, the delivery time and sampling time should be fixed; natural compounds (such as cotton, wood, leather, wool) are dried with calcium chloride for 24 hours , Other substances do not need to be processed, but should be broken into small pieces before weighing.

sampling

The material shall be marked and sampled through the entire cross-section of the sample, and the sample shall be broken into small pieces greater than 10 mg and less than 25 mg. Note that the small pieces cannot be heated. If necessary, another sampling preparation method can be specified on the drawing or in the technical conditions of supply, but it must be marked in the description of the sampling result. Organic substances attached to metal parts, such as paint and adhesive materials, must be mechanically removed before weighing.

Weighing

Generally weigh 2g samples in 20ml headspace bottles (at least 3 bottles per sample). However, the specific sample size is based on the guarantee that the remaining space on the top layer is 5ml, such as sponges, foams and other large and light substances.
