Author:中认联科 time:2023-12-12 Ctr:637

According to the requirements of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), from December 5, 2023, handheld terminal equipment must conform to the ANSI C63.19-2019 standard (also known as HAC 2019 standard).

The standard adds Volume control test requirements, and FCC has agreed to the partial exemption request of volume control test proposed by ATIS, so as to allow handheld terminal products to pass HAC certification by exempting some volume control tests.

From December 5, 2023, according to the latest regulations, the newly applied certification must fully meet the requirements of 285076 D04 Volume Control v02 or be combined with the requirements of 285076D05 HAC Waiver DA 23-914V01 under the temporary exemption procedure KDB.

About HAC

Hearing aid compatibility (HAC) refers to the compatibility when a mobile phone and a hearing aid are used together. In order to reduce the electromagnetic interference caused by people wearing hearing AIDS when using mobile phones, communication standards organizations in various countries have formulated relevant test standards and compliance requirements for HAC.

HAC test is usually divided into RF Rating test and T-Coil test. The RF rating test evaluates whether the mobile phone will produce radio frequency interference when it is used with hearing AIDS. The audio signal test evaluates whether the sound signal sent by the mobile phone can be received and amplified by the hearing aid. Recently, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued the latest requirements, adding the Volume Control requirements, aiming at ensuring that people wearing hearing AIDS can adjust the volume of their mobile phones according to their own needs, so as to obtain a better listening experience.
