[Notice of Edition Change] Notice on the implementation requirements of the new standard GB/T 7260.1-2023 for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

GB/T 7260.1-2023 "Uninterruptible Power Supply System (UPS) Part 1: Safety Requirements" (hereinafter referred to as "the new standard") was issued on December 28th, 2023, and will be implemented on July 1st, 2024, replacing GB/T 7260.1-2008 and GB/T 7260.4-2008. China Quality Certification Center (CQC) revised the certification rules CQC12-461291-2015 "Safety and EMC Certification Rules for Uninterruptible Power Supply Equipment" related to the above standards, corresponding to the subclass number 001017.

The relevant requirements for implementing the new version of standards and implementation rules are notified as follows:

Main revision contents of 01 rules

1. The standard GB/T 7260.1-2023 replaces GB/T7260.1-2008 and GB/T7260.4-2008, and the description of certification scope, sample delivery rules, safety critical parts list and factory quality control inspection requirements of the implementation rules are revised accordingly.

2. According to the requirements of the latest CQC document, modify the relevant contents in Sections 4.2.4, 6.2, 7.1.1, 7.2.1, 9.1.1 and 10 of the implementation rules.

3. Change the validity period of the certification certificates of the certification mode II and the certification mode III to five years.

02 implement the requirements of the new standard.

1. From the date of issuance of this notice to June 31, 2024, enterprises can voluntarily choose to implement certification according to the new version or the old version. Since July 1, 2024, the new version of the standard should be adopted for certification and the new version of the standard certification certificate should be issued, and the old version of the standard certification certificate will no longer be issued.

2. For products that have been certified according to the old standard, the holder of the old standard certification certificate shall submit an application for converting the new standard certification certificate to CQC in time, and complete the product confirmation and certificate renewal according to the new standard after the implementation date of the standard and before the end of the first follow-up inspection. For the main differences and test requirements of the new and old standards, please refer to Appendix 1, GBT 7260.1-2023, and Appendix 2, GB/T 7260.1-2023 and GB/T7260.4-2008. The conversion of all old standard certificates should be completed by June 30, 2025 at the latest; If it is not completed within the time limit, CQC will suspend the old standard certification certificate; For certificates that have not been converted on September 30, 2025, CQC will revoke the old standard certificate.

3. There is no need for certificate conversion for certified products that have been put on the market before July 1, 2024 and are no longer produced.
