Important reminder | The FCC of the United States has updated the related standard Part 15E of Wi-Fi 6E VLP equipment

On March 8, 2024, FCC updated Part 15E and added ultra-low power equipment, which operated in the frequency bands of 5.925 ~ 6.425 GHz (UNII-5) and 6.525 ~ 6.875 GHz (UNII-7).

Compared with before updating, the updated FCC Part 15E has the following key updates:

1. The maximum E.I.R.P. of VLP equipment is 14 dBm, and the maximum PSD is −5 dBm/MHz e.i.r.p.;;

2. VLP equipment can run indoors and outdoors, but fixed outdoor, oil platforms, land vehicles, ships and drones are prohibited;

3. VLP equipment must operate above 6105 MHz;

4. The VLP equipment shall adopt the transmission power control (TPC) mechanism.
