Canada notified on July 5, 2023 that the ISED wireless device registration fee of $50/Listing will be abolished, resulting in a new device registration fee, which will take effect on September 1, 2023. The fees are divided into two types:
1. The fee for applying for the Terminal Apparatus Register or Radio Equipment List (New single or New family applications) is $750;
2. The fee for change application registration (including C1PC, C2PC, C3PC, C4PC, Multiple listings and Transfer of certificate) is $375.
The specific registration fee after the new fee standard takes effect (original text as follows)
Due to the certification cycle, Eurofins will change its quotation earlier than September 1, 2023; Considering the testing and certification cycle, it is recommended that the laboratory update the quotation earlier to avoid exceeding the mandatory time.
What is Canadian ISED certification?
ISED, formerly known as IC (Industry Canada), has been officially renamed Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) since 2016, responsible for the certification of electronic and electrical products entering the Canadian market. Its main products include broadcasting and television equipment, information technology equipment, radio equipment, telecommunications equipment, engineering and medical equipment, etc. Similar to the FCC in the United States, ISED certification currently targets electromagnetic compatibility and RF testing requirements for wireless and non wireless products.
ISED stands for Innovative Economic Science and Development (Canada). This certification helps regulate radio, Consumer electronics and communication equipment in Canada. ISED certification is a passport for electronic and electrical products to enter the Canadian market, and radio products can only be sold in the Canadian market after obtaining ISED certification from relevant authorities. The purpose of this certification is to ensure that all electronic products available to Canadians on the market are safe and comply with appropriate manufacturing and environmental guidelines established by the Government of Canada.
ISED authentication method
ISED: There are two methods available: self declaration and certification.
ISED Self Declaration: ISED SDoC is generally applicable to non wireless product certification methods;
ISED Certification: ISED IC is generally applicable to the certification method of wireless products, which is marked as IC: XXXXX YYYYYYYYYY on the wireless product.
