Project Introduction

Insulation is a safety measure that uses a non-conductive substance to isolate or wrap the charged body to protect against electric shock. Simply put, the size of the insulation resistance of electrical equipment is the ability to isolate voltage. Insulation test is a test to check the dielectric strength of insulating materials or the insulating structure of electrical equipment. The purpose is to check the safe operation of products and equipment, to prevent short circuits and dangerous accidents.

Scope of application

Applicable objects of insulation test

Electrical equipment, electrical components, insulating materials

Test Methods

Under normal circumstances, the insulation resistance test is to output a fixed value of DC voltage value, and then detect the leakage current to ground or other parts. After pressurizing it for 1min, the degree obtained is the insulation resistance value. In the insulation resistance test, the most important part is the absorption ratio test, which can reflect the degree of insulator damage and moisture regain in electrical equipment in time. Normally, the insulation resistance of the equipment at room temperature is qualified and the absorption ratio is within 1.3 before the insulation of the task equipment can be qualified.

Importance of insulation testing

During the operation of electrical equipment, it is always under the influence of various external factors, and its performance will continue to change. These external factors include external electric fields, environment, high voltage, corrosion, and machinery. Under the influence of factors, unpredictable failures are more likely to occur, and serious power interruption will also occur. Therefore, the insulation test of the high-voltage electrical equipment in the power system should be conducted before it is put into operation to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system. Therefore, in order to ensure good insulation of high-voltage electrical equipment and stable and safe operation of power systems, it is necessary to conduct insulation tests on electrical equipment.
