On May 26th, 2023, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) issued the IEC 62368-1:2023 (4th edition) standard. On May 1, 2023, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan revised Appendix 12 of the Electricity Safety Law and released the latest version of standard J62368-1 (2023). This standard is based on the third edition of the international product safety standard IEC 62368-1 (2018), incorporating local differences in Japan. On May 15, 2023, IECEE announced the country differences for J62368-1 (2023). The third edition CB report certificate of IEC 62368-1 (2018) can now be used to apply for PSE certification.
