SABER Certification Introduction

SABER certification is a set of certification online management systems launched by the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), which aims to ensure that imported products sold in the Saudi market meet local safety, performance and environmental protection requirements. The system is interconnected with the Saudi customs clearance system. It can be simply understood as: obtaining a Saber certification certificate means obtaining one of the important certificates for Saudi customs clearance. That is, the SABER certification certificate is one of the necessary documents for Saudi customs clearance. If there is no SABER certificate, the customs has the right to refuse the entry of the batch of goods.

To apply for SABER certification, the conditions and requirements that enterprises need to meet

1. Have English communication skills: In the process of applying for SABER certification, communication with relevant departments in Saudi Arabia is essential, and the applicant company needs to have certain English communication skills. 

2. Comply with national standards: Products must comply with Saudi Arabia's national standards and technical requirements to ensure product quality and safety. 

3. Approved laboratory testing: Products must pass Saudi Arabia's approved laboratory testing and provide corresponding test reports. 

4. Provide product information: The applicant company needs to submit relevant product documentation, including model, specifications, production date, etc., to ensure a smooth application process. SABER certificate is an important pass to the Saudi Arabian market.

How to determine whether the company's products need SABER certification?

The "Saudi Arabia SABER Customs Clearance System" divides all products entering Saudi Arabia into high, medium and low risk categories, and different certification methods are required according to the risk category.So, how to determine whether the company's products need SABER certification? 

1. Provide: product name + customs code (generally use the first 6 digits of China's HS CODE); 

2. Query: Enter the Saudi Arabia SABER official website for query. Therefore, whether the company's products need SABER certification and how to certify, it is necessary to query the customs code, rather than subjective judgment.

SABER certification process

1. The company needs to apply for a one-year Product Certificate and KSAPC certificate; 

2. Based on the existing KSAPC certificate, the company needs to apply for a Shipment Certificate and SCoC certificate.

Product certificate and KSAPC certificate application process

1. Log in to the importer's SABER system to submit the registration application and select the CB agency; 

2. Provide the application number and application materials to the CB agency; 

3. After receiving the application documents, the CB agency will contact the applicant to feedback the review results; 

4. After the materials are reviewed, the system will issue the KSAPC certificate online; 

5. Issue the certificate, the KSAPC certificate is valid for one year.

Application process for those who already have KSAPC certificate, Shipment Certificate and SCoC certificate

1. Log in to the importer's SABER system and submit the registration application according to the customs clearance invoice; 

2. Provide the application number and customs clearance invoice to the CB agency; 

3. After receiving the application documents, the CB agency will contact the applicant to feedback the review results; 

4. Issue the certificate, SCoC certificate single batch customs clearance certificate.
