Information Express | IFT Mexico launches public consultation on existing certification requirements and guidelines for the use of certification labels

Author:中认联科 time:2024-07-16 Ctr:163

On June 14th, 2024, the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) of Mexico announced the launch of the proposed public consultation on the Guidelines for the Use of IFT Labels in Products, Equipment and Devices and the Guidelines for the Certification of Telecommunication or Radio Products, Equipment and Devices (IFT Certification Guidelines have been used since December 2021 and IFT Labeling Guidelines have been used since December 2023).

Two public consultations were held at the same time, aiming at reformulating the labeling requirements in the existing certification. The two public consultation requests are both until August 12, 2024.

The main changes proposed are as follows:

1. Modify the general features that must be observed when printing, digitizing or copying IFT seals on approved telecommunication or broadcasting products, equipment, devices or devices;

2. Temporarily store vector files containing IFT seals through network channels;

3. Amend the effective date of "Guidelines for Using IFT Seal in Approved Telecommunication or Broadcasting Products, Equipment, Devices or Devices" to March 31, 2025.

Purpose of this revision

The purpose of IFT is to avoid the interruption of industry supervision or technical obstacles by adopting the best practice of product labeling, and at the same time ensure that there is a way to identify compliant products, such as considering adopting a more flexible approach to small products or products with screens, or considering putting labels in user manuals and other alternatives if labels cannot be displayed on products or packaging.
