The mini computer is compact in size, more convenient to carry, saves space when going out, and is more convenient to use. Imagine putting all the functions of a traditional desktop computer into a chic box, and its size is only the size of a book. You can install a fully open Windows operating system, various software, games, and customize it based on your personal preferences. However, the export of mini-computers to EU countries needs to apply for CE certification. RED is within the scope of CE certification. It is aimed at wireless products. Mini-computers with wireless functions require CE-RED directives and CE-EMC directives.

Introduction to CE-RED certification

On May 22, 2014, the European Union officially announced a new version of the wireless equipment directive RED 2014/53/EU. This directive is based on the EU’s new CE framework resolution 768/2008/EC. RED 2014/53/EU replaces the original European Union Radio Equipment Directive R&TTE-D 1999/5/EC. There is a two-year transition period. From June 13, 2016, the original R&TTE Directive 1999/5/EC will be abolished, and products that have been evaluated under the old directive can continue to be sold until June 13, 2017. After June 13, 2017, only wireless devices assessed in accordance with the new RED 2014/53/EU will be allowed to be sold on the EU market.

The purpose of the new directive is:

1. Clarify the spectrum usage range;

2. Improve the effectiveness of spectrum use;

3. It is more convenient for member countries to implement regulations and conduct market monitoring.

Before wireless products can be legally sold in EU countries, they must be tested and approved according to the RED directive, and they must also have the CE-mark. Wireless remote control products must comply with the RED directive RED 2014/53/EU requirements.
